Sigma Phi Epsilon Kentucky Beta was chartered on May 17th, 1947, upon the echoed words of our National Founders, "This Fraternity will be different." Our local founder, Richard Panther, was posthumously awarded the Order of the Golden Heart in 1975 in part for his tremendous work to charter the chapter on Louisville's campus. Since our local founding, we have honored the spirit of being different by standing out as a leader in our campus and community.
VDBL
In SigEp, we strive to build Balanced Men. Our time at the University of Louisville is spent to build men who are equipped with all the skills that will allow them to impact the world around them. With a strong anti-hazing policy and the absence of a pledge process, all brothers are equal to each other from the moment of joining. This policy is rooted in our Cardinal Principles of Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love.
Campus Presence
SigEp is on top in many aspects of campus life, such as grades, philanthropy, intramural sports, awards, workshops, campus leadership, and more.
In grades, we recently placed first for two straight semesters with a GPA of 3.72, as well as numerous top three finishes. In the past two years, our brothers have raised over $84,000 for raiseRED to help fight pediatric cancer. SigEp’s intramural sports presence is unmatched; we have claimed the Fraternity Intramural Championship for five straight semesters.
Many of the brothers of Kentucky Beta are not only leaders in the chapter, they are also leaders in the campus community. Our brothers hold executive positions in organizations like the Interfraternity Council and RaiseRED. In addition to these positions we have had the honor of having many other brothers in RaiseRED leadership positions, Student Orientation Staffers (SOSers), Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) ambassadors, and campus tour guides.
We have been fortunate enough to receive numerous awards from the University as well as SigEp nationals for the work that our chapter does that truly makes us stand head and shoulders above the rest. Our accomplishments and accolades are just the tangible evidence of the great impact SigEp has had on our lives and our community.

Inside the Chapter
Through our values, SigEp strives to see our brothers succeed. Whether it's in the classroom, performing service projects, or on intramural fields, we're always trying to outdo ourselves. We wouldn't be successful without the individual and diverse strengths of our brothers. It's the hard work and passion of each individual brother in our chapter that come together as a whole to make us great. Each brother brings his own unique strengths to the table, so we are very focused on individuality- pushing brothers grow those unique strengths. In addition, our chapter has a range of academic tracks such as engineering, pre-med, pre-dental, pre-law, finance, economics, CIS, and much more. In SigEp, brothers quickly find a home they will fit in well. In addition to our undergraduate brothers, we also have multiple dedicated Faculty Fellows and alumni to help brothers find their path through college. There are many occasions to meet and interact with alumni who can provide valuable insight, mentoring, and tips for making the most of your career path.
The Chapter House
Our house is located on Greek Row in the heart of the campus, at 2034 Unity Place, Louisville, Kentucky. We maintain a substance-free housing policy. By doing this, we can ensure a safe, clean, and sustainable living environment that promotes the livelihood and academic success of the brothers that live there.
